A male rider died after his motorcycle collided with a truck late yesterday afternoon in the Riverina.
Police said emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Table Top about 15 km north of Albury following reports of the crash at about 4:40 pm on Thursday (17 October).
“The rider of the motorcycle was assisted at the scene by witnesses and NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.
“The rider is yet to be formally identified.
“The driver of the truck was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.”
Murray River Police District officers are investigating the crash and calling for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
A report on the incident will be prepared for the coroner.
Traffic diversions were in place until Friday at 3:25 am. All southbound lanes of the Hume Highway have reopened.
One of two northbound lanes remains closed while police complete their investigations.
Drivers are urged to use caution when passing the crash site and allow some extra travel time.
