A man has died following a two-vehicle crash in the Riverina over the weekend.

Police said emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash along Urana Road, Jindera, approximately 15 km north of Albury, at about 7:35 pm on Saturday (7 September).

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the male drivers and sole occupants of both vehicles.

A 43-year-old man in one of the vehicles was taken to Albury Wodonga Health, Albury Campus. The man is in stable condition and has undergone mandatory testing, where he remains under police guard.

The second driver was trapped in the vehicle until he was released at 9:40 pm. The 41-year-old man died a short time later en route to Albury Airport, where he was due to be airlifted to a medical facility.
