The highly anticipated Coota Connections Expo is set to showcase many local community organisations and their services.
The expo will be hosted by the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) and held on Tuesday 25 June at the Cootamundra Town Hall from 10 am to 2 pm.
CGRC said the expo was a free event at which more than 25 community organisations would hold stalls with information about what each group had to offer.
“The event, held last year at the Cootamundra Arts Centre, drew a large number of people who connected with clubs and associations,” CGRC said in a statement.
“It offered a variety of activities suited to all interests, and it was hosted then by the Cootamundra Community Services Network.”
“Council’s Tourism and Economic Development Officer Leah Sutherland has encouraged local and regional organisations to participate and grow the event from its beginnings in 2023.”
Coota Connections Expo attendees can expect to find information from various sources and a cross-section of interests.
Topics to be covered include counselling and mental health services, garden and history information, volunteering, and government assistance. Services Australia (Centrelink/Medicare), NSW Police, CanAssist, and Murrumbidgee Local Health District Palliative Care are some of the organisations attending.
CGRC Mayor Charlie Sheahan said he was delighted with the success of the uptake of stalls and organisational participation.
“This event will have information and displays from so many different organisations; there will certainly be something for everyone,” Cr Sheahan said.
“I encourage all residents across the region to pop in and have a chat.”
