A truck driver has died after his B-double left the road and crashed into trees overnight.
Police said emergency services were called to the Newell Highway near Winters Lane south of West Wyalong after a truck was seen crashing into trees about 150 metres off the roadway at about 11:45 pm on Thursday (23 November).
The driver died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Motorists are advised the Newell Highway is closed northbound at West Wyalong and traffic is being diverted via Burley Griffin Way to Temora and Goldfields Way to West Wyalong.
Drivers are to allow plenty of extra travel time as there may also be intermittent southbound closures while investigations take place.
Emergency services and traffic crews are on site. Motorists are urged to monitor live traffic for traffic updates.
