The Optus 2023 Golden Crow Awards have been officially launched for the 39th year to recognise and celebrate the Wagga business community.
Established in 1984, the Golden Crows recognise growth and entrepreneurship and celebrate the success of businesses in Wagga. The awards have given many local businesses the chance to be recognised for their outstanding commitments on a local, regional and even state level.
Wagga Business Chamber business manager Sally Manning said she was excited to launch the 2023 awards with Optus as the naming rights sponsor.
“We’re really appreciative of Optus’s support in being able to launch and conduct the awards,” Mrs Manning said.
“It is through Optus’s support that the chamber can continue to highlight the hard work and dedication of our local businesses.
“It’s important to celebrate local business and the award ceremony is a wonderful way to do that.”
Mrs Manning said the awards were looking for excellence in business in the past 12 months – businesses that had shown entrepreneurship, were innovative and creative, and offered a supportive working environment.
“We encourage people to jump online to have a look at the criteria, and there are opportunities for you not only to represent your business or yourself at a local level but present at a regional and state level as well,” she said.
Optus regional general manager for northern Victoria Matt Connell said Optus was excited to be involved as the naming rights sponsor for this year’s awards.
“We’ve been investing a lot the last few years across the Riverina and launched our business centre last year,” Mr Connell said.
“It’s a great event put on by the chamber and exciting for businesses to be able to showcase exactly what they do and the success they’ve had around Wagga and the Riverina.”
The awards have 13 categories and are scheduled for Friday, 11 August, at the Civic Theatre precinct in a marquee.
Nominations close on Sunday, 14 May, and the finalists will be announced on 28 June. Click here to nominate your business or another business.
