Man dies following head-on collision in the Riverina

A man has died following a car crash in the Riverina on Wednesday (19 February).

At about 2 pm, emergency services were called to the intersection of Condobolin Road and Ridleys Lane, West Wyalong, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and found a ute and a prime mover had collided head-on.

The driver of the ute – a man aged in his 50s – died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the prime mover – a 42-year-old man – was not injured.

He was taken to Wyalong District Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established as police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
