Woman in Wagga charged with drug offences after police raid Mount Austin home

Riverina Police have charged a woman and allegedly seized a firearm, ammunition and drugs following an investigation in Wagga.

At about 9 am on Wednesday (28 January), Region Enforcement Squad officers executed a search warrant at a home in Mount Austin, as part of an ongoing investigation.

During the search, officers allegedly seized a shortened bolt-action rifle, ammunition, and small amounts of methylamphetamine and cannabis.

Following the search, a 52-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

She was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction and breaching of bail.

The woman was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta’s Bail Division Court on Thursday.
