A woman in Hillston has been issued with an infringement notice for alleged abusive behaviour after expressing her frustration during a longer-than-expected wait for a pepperoni pizza.

At 7 pm on Thursday (17 July), the 46-year-old woman attended a restaurant in Hillston. Upon arrival, staff believed the woman was highly intoxicated.

The woman attempted to order a pepperoni pizza and was told that it would be about an hour wait due to the backlog of orders.

She paid $25 for the pizza and went to wait.

About 40 minutes later, the woman allegedly returned to the venue and began yelling and swearing at staff, due to the wait.

It is alleged the woman grabbed two full beer bottles off the counter, smashed one on the bar and dropped the other one, smashing it.

The 46-year-old demanded her money back from staff and she was refunded her $25.

It is alleged the woman became abusive again, claiming she had given the restaurant $37. The woman continued arguing with staff before police were called.

The woman then left the venue. Her partner came in, apologised to staff and paid for the goods she had broken.

Police arrived a short time later and obtained details.

Police attended the woman’s home and will allege she was immediately aggressive towards Police, talking over the top of officers whilst they were trying to inform her of her rights and constantly interrupting police before they entered her home.

Officers left after a short time and will be issuing the woman with an infringement notice for offensive behaviour.
