It may well be the race that stops the nation, but for the last couple of years, Melbourne Cup Day has been a subdued affair as the pandemic that stopped the world had us in its grip.
So this year, there’s even more reason to get frocked up and join the spring carnival celebration with Melbourne Cup events and gatherings returning with a bang!
We’ve put together a list of 5 top spots to watch Cup in Wagga.
Wagga RSL
The Wagga RSL, overlooking the glorious Murrumbidgee Turf Club is no stranger to racing and will be welcoming the punters with $15 burgers from Henry’s from 11:30 am plus $15 pizzas and $5 glasses of champagne all day!
William Farrer Hotel
The iconic ‘Farrer’ is starting the celebrations early with a good old fashioned Melbourne Cup ‘Calcutta’ being drawn tonight at 7:30 pm.
The doors will then open to the punters early on Raceday with bacon and egg rolls and coffee available from 8 am and a two-course set menu for lunch.
Thomas Blamey Hotel
If you’re heading out to Lake Albert, the Thomas Blamey has a cup deal that’s pretty hard to beat.
Not only will the dozens of TVs and big screens be tuned into the race, but they are offering a Bottomless Lunch between 12-4 pm for $60.
But keep your pants on – its the food and drink that’s bottomless with beer, wine & pizza all included.
Romano’s Hotel
If you fancy getting your glad rags on, Romano’s will have prizes for Male & Female Best Dressed, Best Hat/Fascinator, and a losing TAB tickets draw.
