Wagga residents have recently noticed several strange yet heartwarming items in a variety of locations in the city.
A number of quilted hearts with little messages have been left around town, with those finding them having little to no knowledge as to who is making them or why they are appearing.
“Thank you to the beautiful person making these!” one person wrote on social media.
“I was walking past Workout, and turned around, and I found this hanging on a bottle brush! Thank you to the thoughtful person who makes these; you made my day!”
“I have also found one in the lift at the Marketplace. I passed it on to a friend when she was down and out,” another wrote.

“I found one a while ago near Spotlight,” someone else posted.
While it is unclear who is making the hearts, what is clear is the community’s love for them.
If you are lucky enough to find a heart, you will find a message attached with a link to a website called I Found A Quilted Heart.
The website states, “Welcome to I Found A Quilted Heart! The IFAQH community of volunteers anonymously create and place small quilted hearts around the globe to brighten the day of a stranger.
“Did YOU find a quilted heart? If so, it was meant to be yours! Please give it a home. The Three Sisters would love to hear the story of finding your quilted heart.”
Turns out, the quilted hearts are part of a global anonymous volunteer project looking to spread joy to all parts of the world and it has now arrived in Wagga.
“I Found A Quilted Heart (IFAQH) started as a little project started by three sisters with a passion for spreading kindness,” the website reads.
“From the very beginning, our mission was simple: to create a ripple effect of kindness one quilted heart at a time.
“What started as a few stitched hearts hidden in our local towns has grown into a worldwide movement — thanks to YOU, our amazing community. Over the past decade, we’ve seen the heartwarming impact of this project unfold in ways we never imagined. From small acts of kindness to grand gestures of love, each heart that has been found carries a story that many have shared their story of joy, of hope, and connection.
“The small hearts have touched lives, lifted spirits, and sparked smiles in people from all walks of life.
“Whether you’re sewing, sowing, or just spreading the word, we thank you for being a part of this incredible journey of IFAQH.”
