In a display of festive generosity, shoppers are invited to support a heartwarming initiative by having their gifts wrapped in exchange for a donation.
Wagga Wagga Marketplace and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) have joined hands in the spirit of giving to support families facing challenges during the holiday season.
“Anyone in the Marketplace or Sturt Mall who wants their gifts wrapped are welcome to pop in between Prouds and The Body Shop,” RMHC Wagga fundraising and marketing manager Kiara Breust said.
“People can provide us with a donation, and our beautiful volunteers will wrap the gifts for them.
“We are raising funds for our local Ronald McDonald House to support local families and sick kids. We hope to raise enough money to support families over Christmas and accommodate them in our local house.”
Ms Breust said it was the first time RMHC was running the gift-wrapping initiative.
“It is exciting for us and we are keen to see what funds will rise out of this,” she said.
“We usually hold a raffle here [Wagga Marketplace], and I asked Chloe Sutton [Marketplace community marketing manager] how else we can work together in order to fundraise for Christmas.
“She suggested we do gift wrapping. We were happy to take that on board and roll it out.”
Those who can’t get their gifts wrapped at the centre can still donate to RMHC.
