Wagga Leisure has launched a new tiered membership system for the Oasis Aquatic Centre, its newly acquired gym and the soon to be completed Jim Elphick Tennis Centre.
The membership options will allow Wagga residents to enjoy any or all of the three Bolton Park facilities at various costs depending on which facilities members want to use.
The highest level of membership (Gold) will allow members to use the aquatic centre, the attached gym and the tennis centre for $24 a week for adults, $22 for concession or $36 for a family of five (max three adults).
Patrons just looking to use the pool or gym can do so with the Silver membership for $18 a week for adults, $16 for concession or $30 for a family of three (max two adults).
Those just looking to swim can pay $12 a week but will pay a fee to join the gym or tennis centre.
All options are pay as you go with no lock-in contract, however, each requires a one-off $50 sign-up fee and $30 transfer fee.
Manager of Wagga Leisure Marc Geppert said the membership options would allow residents to utilise great fitness options in the middle of town with special consideration of their financial situations.
“What we’ve provided is really accessible and affordable for most people,” he said.
“We’ve worked together with each of these fantastic facilities to provide more value. The tennis, the gym and the pool are all within 50 metres of each other. So it makes perfect sense for us to combine those into a single membership.
“We’re really trying to focus on those families and the youth to leverage those memberships. We hope that they’re affordable and we hope people will utilise them, and we’ll continue to strive to make those facilities better.”
Mr Geppert acknowledged the launch of the memberships was slightly premature due to the tennis centre still waiting for completion, but assured keen residents that it would be up and running in mid-April.
“There’s still a couple of weeks of construction left, but it’s all on track,” he said.
“With the centre opening in April, we’re bound to still get some good weather. With the netball and footy seasons kicking off, we are bound to see those centres kick off and we’re confident despite missing the summer period people will still take advantage of the facilities.”
