Two people have been charged with commercial drug supply offences after police allegedly seized more than 70 kg of cannabis during a traffic stop in the Riverina last week.

At about 10:10 am on Thursday (21 August), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Riverina stopped a vehicle for the purpose of a random breath test.

Police searched the vehicle, which had Victorian number plates. Officers allegedly seized close to 74 kg of cannabis in the boot, covered in a tarp. Their mobile phones were also seized for forensic examination.
