A 41-year-old Griffith man has been charged with drug and weapon offences following a vehicle stop in Griffith.
At about 7:30 am on Thursday (26 March), police stopped a white Ford Territory travelling west along the town’s main street, Banna Avenue.
Police conducted roadside testing, with the driver allegedly testing positive for drug use.
The man was arrested and conveyed to Griffith Police Station for secondary testing.
It is alleged police located two large knives in plain view beside the driver’s seat.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, it is also alleged police located a small quantity of cannabis and an air-powered weapon in the rear cargo area, which were seized.
The man has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug, possessing an unregistered firearm and not keeping a firearm safely.
He was also issued infringement notices for other alleged offences, including matters relating to the knives.
The 41-year-old is due to appear in Griffith Local Court on 13 May.

Strange, I thought city-based elites like Labor's Communications Minister Anika Wells should fix it. View
