A man has fronted court today (2 April) after being charged following an alleged shooting in Griffith last month.
Emergency services responded to reports that a man had been shot at a home on Carrathool Street, Griffith, about 11:15 pm on Saturday, 16 March.
Murrumbidgee Police District officers were told that three men forced entry into the premises before the victim was allegedly shot in the left leg.
The 44-year-old presented to Griffith Base Hospital with leg injuries before being transferred to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
A crime scene was established, and detectives launched an investigation.
Following inquiries, investigators from the Blacktown Police Area Command attended a home in Clyde Street, Guildford, about 11:45 am on Friday, 29 March.
A 37-year-old man was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station.
He was charged with discharging a firearm etc with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, attempting to discharge a firearm etc with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and special aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence – inflicting grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court today (2 April).
Two men, both aged 31, have also been charged and are before the courts.
