There’s a lot to get excited about across the Riverina this week, from family events to live music, stand up and much more.

Albury completely changes its face on Saturday with WinterGlow, bringing live music, entertainment, workshops, market stalls and even ice skating right to the heart of town. Don’t miss out on this great chance to send winter off with a bang.

Burlesque Night at Bar Olivette is a special event on for two nights only. Lose yourself in the flair and glamour as a professional dancer entertains the audience while you try Olivette’s signature drinks.

On Thursday the Melbourne Comedy Showcase comes to Albury, with some of the best comics from Victoria coming to split sides and make a real impression. Don’t miss out.

Immerse yourself in some old-world glamour at Bar Olivette’s Burlesque Night, bringing the energy of the decadent 20s to Wagga. Marvel at the dazzling rhinestones under the limelight and the twirling of feathers as a burlesque dancer captivates you and transports you to a time when drinks and entertainment were a way of life. It is sure to be a night to remember.

Winter Lumiere Exhibition

When: 9 August, 10 am to 3 pm
Where: Wagga Wagga Art Society, 11 Small Street, Wagga Wagga
Cost: Free.

This one-off exhibition from the Wagga Art Society is centred on a special theme – Winter Lumiere. Members of the society have interpreted the theme and created their own unique pieces based on the combined inputs of winter and light. Everything on display is original and shows off the talent of local artists. All works are for sale. If winter is your favourite time of year or you just want to see what local artists can do, this special exhibition is for you.

Cost: Free entry. Some events cost a small amount, cash preferred.

WinterGlow turns QEII Square into a world of wonder as the street bursts into life with displays, interactive experiences and falling snow.

There’s so much going on, with street art, live music, roving entertainment such as fire twirlers, creative workshops, guided tours, drumming sessions, art trails, tarot card readings, ice skating, glow in the dark games, discos, market stalls, pottery, fairy floss and heaps of snacks and treats.

Don’t miss out on this full night of fun.

Grass Roots Open Mic Competition

Local performers come together this Sunday in Griffith for the Grass Roots Open Mic Competition, showing off their chops with original and cover songs. This celebration of local music and regional talent has been going on since 2019 and will be judged by Ben Ceccato, Luke Piccolo and Bonnie Owen. Head out on Sunday and see what the locals can do.

His passion for music as well as clear technical talent, have earned him awards and adoring crowds. See what all the fuss is about this weekend.

Comedians Lehmo (The Project, Utopia, Triple M) and Dave O’Neil (Spicks & Specks, Have You Been Paying Attention) are coming to town, bringing years of experience in making audiences split their sides with laughter. Don’t miss out as these comics cover everything from parenting, family life, single life, health and everything in between.
