House of Cards – Installation at the Wagga Art Gallery

Gregory Carosi’s House of Cards is a large installation that seeks to explore the precarious nature of contemporary living through a theatrical and philosophical artistic experience.

By creating a physical space using large acrylic paintings on aluminium, the artist hopes to create an experience that evokes both material and emotional atmospheres.

Artist Gregory Carosi invites you to reflect on the world and times we live in through his experimental installation.

A Taste of Italy – Final days

A Taste of Italy is in its last few days in the Riverina, but there is plenty on offer, including food and wine events, workshops, stalls, live music, tastings, car shows and competitions all centred around Italian culture.

There’ll be plenty to see, taste and do across the region this week, with events for the whole family.

Head to the Brocklesby Recreation Reserve for a bush dance and astronomy night.

There will be a bush band, telescopes to view the night’s sky, gravy rolls, a sausage sizzle, drinks on offer at bar prices, a raffle and a stall with heaps of glow sticks to light up the night.

Arcadia Winds – Riverina Conservatorium of Music

Arcadia Winds is one of the country’s premier wind quintets and this Friday they’re inviting you to experience a captivating concert highlighting the musical skill and versatility of five virtuosos of the flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon.

This mixed schedule will play works from renowned composers Peteris Vasks, Anne Cawrse, Holly Harrison, Miguel del Aguila and Valerie Coleman, covering a broad spectrum of music, with broad soundscapes and innovative rhythms.

Len Connolly brings his Elvis tribute show to the Tumut River Brewing Company, with all the energy and passion that the King demands.

He had performed his show locally, interstate and internationally, bringing timeless ballads and classic rock and roll from the King to the masses.

In the wake of sold-out shows and rave reviews from audiences, The Grandparents Club is back with a new adventure full of laughs, catchy songs and cheeky characters.

This 90-minute show covers everything from the realities of long-distance parenting to helicopter parents, to keeping tabs on teenage grandkids going through angst, with a healthy dose of humour at every step. Audiences are bound to leave with a smile on their face at this funny but sincere exploration of older family life.

Dr Sam Bowker is sharing a six-part lecture series at the Booranga Writers’ Centre, exploring the artistry and history of books throughout history as well as their evolving position in society. This is the final lecture in the six part series, aiming to bring the history of books and the artistry that goes into making them to the public.

This week’s lecture will be about the future of the book. In the era of the internet, AI and instant information, where does the future of analogue reading lie? It’s an important question to ask. Whether you’ve been following the lecture series from the start or you’re just looking to pop in and check out the last one, this will be a fascinating lecture.
