There’s no end to the excitement in the Riverina this week. We’ve found all the best events to keep you busy, from multi-day rugby competitions to rodeos, races, musicals, stand-up, exciting daredevil shows and more.

The West Wyalong Rugby Knockout Competition is here, bringing together 16 teams from across the region to battle it out for the title of champion.

Narrandera’s rodeo presents a full day of horsemanship events with buckjumpers, roughriders and bull riders.

Freestyle Kings Live World Tour brings death-defying stunts, tricks and spectacle to Albury as you’ve never seen it before.

West Wyalong Rugby League Knockout

When: 27 February, from 5 pm and 28 February, from 3 pm
Where: Ron Crowe Oval, 2 Short Street, West Wyalong
Cost: Tickets from $10 to $15 | Under 16 free | Purchase at the gate.

The 52nd West Wyalong Knockout is here, bringing together some of the best teams in Country Rugby League for two days of fierce contests.

Sixteen teams will come together to duke it out for the title of champion. It’s sure to be an exciting way to start the weekend, with hours and hours of footy to enjoy.

There will also be a full bar and canteen, so spectators can really make a day of it.

Saturday

Narrandera Rodeo

When: 28 February, 8 am till late
Where: Narrandera Rodeo Arena, Racecourse Road, Narrandera
Cost: Free.

Head to the Narrandera Rodeo Ground for a full day of horsemanship and bull events, with buckjumpers, roughriders, bull riders – with food and drinks available.

There will be a real atmosphere as the best stockmen and women from around the region compete with each other to come out on top.

SDRA Country Championships Day at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club

When: 28 February, noon to 7 pm
Where: Murrumbidgee Turf Club, 142 Travers Street, Wagga

Head to the Murrumbidgee Turf Club for a full day of races for some seriously high stakes, as the winner gains exemption into the $1 million Country Championships Final at Royal Randwick.

There’ll be plenty of excitement on the day, with Western-themed racing, line dancing, mini pony rides for the kids and an after-party with live country rock music.

For racegoers looking to go the extra mile, the Turf Club offers packages with complimentary drinks, buffet lunches, and entry to the marquee. Check the website for more details.

The Freestyle Kings Live World Tour brings spectacle to new heights, with action sports legends such as Robbie Maddison, his sons Kruz and Jagger, FMX world champions Clinton Moore, Pat Bowden and X Games gold medallist Robbie Adelberg putting on a show to remember.

If you want excitement this weekend, book now for front flips, double backflips and gravity-challenging BMX stunts sure to excite. This is the best show on two wheels, with two full hours of amazing tricks, along with fire artists, pyrotechnics and music.

Painting a unique portrait of pre-Federation Australia and one of its most famous sons, BANJO is a musical show artistically interpreting the life of the country’s national poet.

Through a difficult life in rural Australia in the late 19th century, to his time as a lawyer and writer in the streets of Sydney, as well as his bitter return to the countryside, BANJO follows one man’s journey to understand Australia.

Weaving the poetry of Paterson with contemporary dance and popular music from the band Coldplay, BANJO tells a fascinating story in an unflinching, extraordinary way.

A team of multi-instrumentalists and comedians are coming to the Albury Entertainment Centre to tell the life story of one of NSW’s most memorable political figures.

Taking the audience through the many trials, tribulations and disasters of the early 2020s, this musical is a blast from the past, proving that state politics can be enjoyable, with a healthy dose of rock music, ballads, tap dancing and a few musical press conferences.

Comedian Luke Kidgell is well known for his crowd-work clips, which have gone viral online, bringing him a reputation for his quick-witted, hilarious encounters.

Kidgell is here to let the audience know that, despite the fact he has little control over his impulsive thoughts, he has Good Intentions and he has been touring the US, Canada, NZ and Europe to prove that fact.
