Aurora is an immersive night-time experience with interactive areas, light displays, soundscapes and special effects that replicate the magic of the sea. There will be an undersea journey, Tides of Adventure, where visitors get to find a lost key that unlocks a treasure chest at the bottom of the sea, as well as holograms of deep-sea creatures to add to the adventure.

Celebrate National Tree Day by heading out with the rest of the community on Sunday and improving native biodiversity by planting trees. Native trees do so much more than just look pretty – they provide habitat for key threatened species such as squirrel gliders. This great community event will include a barbecue lunch from noon.

Art and Books Public Lectures With Dr Sam Bowker

Dr Sam Bowker is sharing a six-part lecture series at the Booranga Writers’ Centre, exploring the artistry and history of books throughout history as well as their evolving position in society. This lecture series will take place on Thursday evenings from this week until early September. This week’s lecture will delve into the history and design of books, while next week’s lecture covers the position of the book in Europe. The following week will illuminate the audience on the history of Arabic and Persian printing.
