There’s so much going on in the Riverina this week, with plenty of festivals, live music, comedy, plays, competitions and everything in between.

Tumut River Brewing Company hosts Tap Days, a three-day festival with plenty of live music, special brews, great food and family-friendly fun.

Wagga’s Speed Shear is here, pitting the Riverina’s best shearers against each other. There is $87,000 in total prize money across all divisions, so whether you’re an agriculturalist or you just love the thrill of competition, this is the event for you.

Wagga’s Civic Theatre holds its annual program launch for 2026, giving locals a chance for a sneak peek at all the best music, plays, performances, dance, comedy and more coming to the theatre this year.

Multiple Days

Tumut River Tap Days at the Brewery

When: 21 November, from 7 pm; 22 November, 1 to 11 pm; 23 November, noon to 4 pm
Where: Tumut River Brewing Company, 1/5 Capper St, Tumut
Cost: Free entry on Friday and Sunday but bookings required | Entry on Saturday $20 to $35 online or $40 at the door | Book online.

Tumut River Tap Days is a three-day event all about cold beers, great tunes and delicious food, across a full weekend of fun.

Friday kicks things off with the tunes of North Coast artist Hannah Harlen, while Saturday has a full line-up of live music and the Smoking Butcher creating dishes to complement the brewery’s already impressive food menu. Saturday’s acts include Corey Legge & the Legacy, Col Ray Price, Skabhangers, Wild Tracks, Blues Factory and Archie. There will also be plenty of guest breweries making an appearance, such as Apple Thief Cider, Jindabyne Brewing, Dalgety, Longstocking Brewery and Squinters Brewery.

Sunday is Tumut River Brewing Company’s family day and there will be plenty of fun for the kids from noon to 4 pm.

CW Comedy HOLBROOK – Geraldine Hickey & Nikki Britton

Comedians Nikki Britton and Geraldine Hickey are bringing their award-winning comedy show to the Holbrook Hotel for an afternoon of laughs.

Britton is an energetic and beloved comedian, actor and writer known for her stage presence and her ability to bring humour to everyday life. She’s teaming up with Geraldine Hickey, who has appeared on Question Everything, Have You Been Paying Attention? Thank God You’re Here and I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here.

Don’t miss out on this comedy powerhouse show, which won the Melbourne Comedy Festival Award 2021.

Wagga Speed Shear 2025

The Wagga Speed Shear is back, showcasing the absolute best shearers in the Riverina as they compete for the top honour.

Whether you’re in agriculture or you just love the thrill of competition, no matter the subject, this is a great chance to see shearers from around the country give it their all in an energetic contest.

Witness first-heat rounds, semi-final rounds and then eventually finals in speed-shearing categories, encompassing both individual and team events. There is $87,000 in total prize value across all divisions.

Twisted Tales – Riverina Dance Capital

Riverina Dance Capital presents a world of dance, excitement and imagination as dance students take audiences on a journey through just about every style of dance, from jazz to ballet, contemporary, ballroom, Latin, lyrical, acrobatic and hip hop, with dancers performing from every skill level, from beginner to elite.

Beloved fairy tales will be told with strange and wonderful twists. Come see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel in a new light, with wonderfully talented performers telling stories through movement.

The Rock Regional Observatory is hosting a night of astronomical adventure this Saturday.

Open to all ages, Saturday SkyWatch invites you and your family to explore the night sky through the observatory’s telescopes, as well as learn about stars, planets and the constellations.

If you’re curious about the stars and you want to take advantage of the dark skies available in the country, this is your chance.

Spring Carnival Race Day – Albury Racing Club

Head to the Albury Racing Club to celebrate the warmth and life of spring.

Gates open at 1:30 pm for an afternoon of excitement on the track, dressing up and the energy and buzz that comes from heading to the races. Whether you want to cheer on your lucky pick or you just want to bust out a suit or gown, this is a great way to celebrate and let loose.

The Wagga Civic Theatre is launching its 2026 program this week, inviting the public to get a sneak peek at all the amazing shows, live music, theatrical performances, plays and more coming to town next year.

Attendees will also be able to purchase tickets for next year’s events far in advance.

There will be drinks on arrival and snacks on offer for those who want to come see what the theatre has to offer in 2026. Feel free to get dressed up for this special event.

Following a sold-out tour of the West End, musical theatre icon Philip Quast, triple winner of the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical, is sharing his professional life in a musical cabaret.

From musicals such as Mary Poppins, to Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods, Quast has performed in a range of iconic roles and this presentation of his career will be as broad in scope as his professional oeuvre. This is a great chance to hear Quast’s award-winning voice in person, as well as to hear behind-the-scenes stories and thoughts that turned a country boy into a star on stage.

Musician Damien Leith presents 20 years of his musical career in one night on stage in a very special performance.

Leith will perform some of his biggest hits, including Hallelujah, his hit single Night of My Life and his take on Nessun Dorma, with plenty of other fan favourites along the way. He will also pay tribute to Roy Orbison with a selection of Orbison’s hits, delivered with stage presence, musical skill and respect for the original.
