There’s heaps going on in the Riverina this week, from live retellings of bestselling kids’ books to sports days welcoming kids to come try out new things, and sing-a-longs that celebrate one of the best bands in memory.
Wagga’s PCYC is hosting a school holiday program this Monday with sports, games and activities to keep kids and teens active.
On Saturday, an ABBA tribute sing-along brings all the hits to life, encouraging the audience to get involved and sing their hearts out.

Something to Crow About – Shakespearian Dinner Show

A fundraising event put on by the Wagga Shakespeare Club, Something to Crow About is a comical show with excerpts from many of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, creating a comedy from various parts taken out of context and given new life in a modern setting.
Hosted at the Thirsty Crow, this show will come with a dinner of either Irish beef stew or vegetable lasagne, perfect to chase away the cold.
It is set to be a farcical and hilarious journey through many of Shakespeare’s works and it’s for a good community cause too, with all proceeds donated to Kooringal Rotary Club.

IMAGINE Live

Imagine Live is an exciting read-through of Alison Lester’s iconic best-selling book Imagine, incorporating mixed-media elements such as digital puppetry, animation, original music and audience participation to create a fun, novel experience of a beloved children’s book.
Spot leopards, swim with dolphins or dig up dino bones as Imagine comes to life.
This performance is all about excitement, creativity, joy and the natural world; it’s bound to be a fun event for all ages.

Comfort Food Cabaret at the Wagga Civic Theatre

Singing cook Michelle Pearson presents a multiple award-winning performance that combines the culinary and the theatrical.
Comfort Food Cabaret follows Pearson as she creates a three-course meal, celebrating local produce and comfort food alongside a live band performing jazz, rock and pop music, creating a unique dining experience as the audience gets a chance to taste each dish.
This show, which has toured in Edinburgh, Copenhagen and London, promises to take audiences on a hilarious and delicious journey. Ticket prices include a tasting of entrees, main and dessert.

Wagga Wagga Swap Meet – Classic and Historic Automobile Club of Australia
When: 20 July, 7 am to 3 pm
Where: Wagga Showgrounds, Bourke Street, Wagga
Cost: Entry is $5 at the gate.
The Wagga Wagga Swap Meet has a mixture of 850 stalls selling all sorts of automotive goods, bric-a-brac, homemade items, antiques and plenty of food and drinks.
And of course, there will be plenty of classic vintage cars and bikes to feast your eyes on.

Christmas in July Markets

The Lions Club of Narrandera is holding Christmas in July Markets to mark the middle of the year, with plenty of local artisans and producers selling everything from jams to locally made art. Spot out a gift for a loved one or head down for a feed as there will be plenty of food vendors providing the goods.

The PCYC is helping keep young people busy and active these school holidays and this Monday it has a full schedule of physical, fun activities.
This full-day program has something for every kid, with basketball, gaga ball, a disco dance party and Nerf and laser tag. It’s a great way to get fit and active in a welcoming, fun environment.
