The GIANTS Super Netball team will once again return to the Riverina in 2026, with the announcement that it will play two preseason games in the region.

Arriving in late January, the GIANTS will spend four days across Griffith and Wagga Wagga for a trip that will include games against the Queensland Firebirds on Friday 30 January in Wagga and Griffith on Sunday 1 February.

The trip to the Riverina will mark the third time in as many years the GIANTS have visited the region after sell-outs in 2024 and 2025.

GIANTS Executive General Manager Tim Underwood said the road trip was always a highlight on the club’s pre-season calendar and an indication of just how big the regional supporter base was for the club.

“The Riverina region has always shown incredible support for the GIANTS, and we’re thrilled to be returning in 2026,” Mr Underwood said.

“This trip is about more than just netball – it’s about connecting with our fans, supporting the growth of the sport in regional communities, and inspiring the next generation of players.

“Community connection is at the heart of who we are as a club. The Riverina Road Trip gives us the chance to share our passion for netball with regional fans, while offering a sneak peek at our preparations for the upcoming Suncorp Super Netball season.

“Both Wagga Wagga and Griffith have such passionate netball communities, and we can’t wait to see plenty of orange in the stands when we take on the Firebirds.”

Wagga Mayor Dallas Tout said the GIANTS returning to Wagga Wagga was a great boost for the local sporting community and local economy.

“We have a thriving sporting community here in Wagga Wagga and surrounds, and events such as this are an exciting opportunity for residents to see professional-level sport in a local sporting facility,” Cr Tout said.

“We have developed a strong relationship with the GIANTS over the years, and we are pleased to welcome them back to the city in 2026.

“Events such as this also support our local economy with visitation to the city boosted, therefore supporting the business of local accommodation and hospitality providers.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors, seeing the stands full at the Multi-Purpose Stadium and to a competitive game of netball.

Griffith Mayor Doug Curran said he was pleased to welcome the GIANTS back to Griffith.

“Griffith has a passionate netball community, so it’s fantastic to see elite athletes playing right here in our backyard,” Cr Curran said.

“Events like this not only inspire our young athletes but also bring great energy and excitement to the city.

“We look forward to welcoming the GIANTS back to the Griffith Regional Sports Centre.”

Further details on ticketing, event timings and community activity will be announced via the club’s website and social media in the coming weeks.
