Riverina senior constable set to face court for alleged drug supply

A Riverina police officer has been suspended after he was charged with allegedly supplying prohibited drugs in the region.

NSW Police said Professional Standards Command officers commenced an investigation into reports an officer was allegedly supplying prohibited drugs this month.

Following extensive inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home in Wagga Wagga on Thursday morning (19 September), where a number of items were seized for forensic examination.

The 36-year-old male senior constable attached to a command within the Southern Region was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged with three counts of supplying prohibited drugs and knowingly dealing in proceeds of crime and was granted conditional bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

The officer is suspended with pay, and his employment status is being reviewed.
