Who are you and what is your business? I’m Haley Tait and my business is Rewild. We make water kefir – a fermented probiotic drink and ferment it here in Wagga.
Where did you begin? My sister Lisa and I are partners in the business. It started after she returned from travelling overseas and got a parasite. Long story short, she had to focus on her gut health and with lots of research we discovered water kefir. It began with making it for her and it was successful so we grew from there.
What do you produce? Water kefir, and everything is handcrafted. We have four flavours – our original, lemongrass which is really beautiful in summer and mixes well with Riverina gin. We’ve also got turmeric which is great for inflammation and currently our seasonal is rose.
Where can we buy your products? The Riverina Producer’s Markets, The Red Pomegranate and online.
What should we buy for gifts this Christmas? A six-pack of Rewild Water Kefir.
What’s your favourite product that you make? My favourite is turmeric.
What would you make if you could do anything? I would continue with my business on a bigger scale.
How would you promote the Riverina? We pride ourselves on the fact with our seasonal we always use local ingredients. We love to support local where we can.
What’s your favourite coffee spot? I don’t drink coffee.
Coolest local thing you’ve ever bought? Many years ago I bought a vintage pot about a metre wide. I found it at a local op shop. It’s hand-painted and now we use it as an ice bucket.
Who is another local producer you admire? So many. Junee Licorice Factory. I think what they’ve created is absolutely amazing. Sarah from Primal Alternatives. Most of the producers at the market – it’s a really supportive community and I admire them all for what they bring to this market.
What do you want for Christmas? What I want for Christmas? I would like for my children to not fight.

Region Riverina is committed to celebrating our local producers and creatives and encourages everyone to buy local.
