Riverina Fresh’s Lactose Free Milk has been crowned the country’s best dairy product at the Australian Grand Dairy awards.

Taking home the Grand Champion Dairy Product award, the popular product marks the first time that a lactose-free milk has won the award.

The product was judged by expert panellists from across the country based on its aroma, texture, body and appearance.

Riverina Fresh executive chairman Craig Shapiro said the award was recognition of the company’s dedicated team and dairy farmers.

“It is our farmers’ unwavering dedication and passion to producing high-quality milk that makes this achievement possible, for which we are very grateful,” he said.

“Winning the Grand Champion Dairy award is a proud moment for Riverina Fresh and our entire team and our dedicated dairy farmers. This is the ultimate accolade in the Australian dairy industry, which reflects our commitment to producing premium quality milk.

“The future for the dairy industry is bright, particularly as consumers continue to recognise the enduring benefits of using fresh, natural products every day. The Riverina Fresh team remain passionate about their ongoing contribution to a sustainable Australian dairy industry.

“Riverina Fresh remains committed to championing quality, innovation and sustainability across the dairy industry, just as we have for the past 103 years.”

Riverina Fresh CEO Mark Heintz said the award was the highest honour in Australian dairy and receiving the honour signified the work that was put into producing high-quality products.

“Winning Grand Champion Dairy confirms Riverina Fresh’s position as a leader in premium milk production and reinforces our commitment to excellence, innovation and our ability to meet evolving consumer needs. Ultimately, though, this award belongs to our local dairy farmers,” he said.

“For more than 100 years, Riverina Fresh has proudly operated as a niche regional dairy business. As a 100 per cent Australian-owned company, our heritage is built on a commitment to producing the highest quality milk, supporting local farmers and communities and delivering products that reflect the authenticity and excellence of Australian dairy.

Riverina Fresh’s Lactose Free Milk was also awarded the prize for Champion Modified Milk.

Riverina Fresh sells its products in Woolworths stores across NSW, Victoria and the ACT.
