Murray River Police has renewed its call for information as they continue to investigate the alleged sexual assault, attempted sexual assault and indecent assault of four women in Albury in 2005 and 2006.

Strike Force Ranchby was relaunched in June 2025 to review these incidents that allegedly occurred in and around the border town’s CBD, after new information was received from a caller to the information line Crime Stoppers.

Police allege four women were attacked in and around Albury’s CBD between May 2005 and August 2006 while walking home alone, mostly at night.

One of the women suffered injuries, including cuts, bruises and scrapes.

New technology has helped establish a link between several of the incidents.

Police are asking anyone with information — including people who did not come forward at the time — to contact Albury Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The alleged offender is described as a white male in his 20s, between 170 cm and 185 cm tall, with a slim to medium build.
