Police are seeking assistance from the public regarding a number of incidents which occurred around the Leeton, Whitton and Stanbridge areas around late November last year.

In the early hours of 24 November, emergency services were called to a suspicious house fire at a farm on Darlington Point Road, Whitton.

The house was unoccupied at the time. A white Ford Falcon sedan was allegedly stolen from the location which police believe was taken a day or two prior to the fire. In the early hours of 23 November, a Toyota Hilux utility towing a car trailer transported the Falcon to Albury. This Falcon was then exchanged with another vehicle. The Falcon has since been recovered and forensic examination has been carried out.

A Murrumbidgee Irrigation excavator on the Whitton Stock Route Road near Yenda was also allegedly broken into and a radio taken from inside. There have been further incidents involving excavators and the alleged theft of fuel around the area. It is unknown if any of these incidents are related.

Police are seeking any information from the public, who can contact Murrumbidgee Police on 6969 4299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
