Police report seizing knuckle-dusters, machetes and taser from Wagga home after suspicious fire

NSW Police have allegedly seized multiple machetes, knuckle-dusters, drugs and vehicles following an investigation into a vehicle fire in the Wagga suburb of Lloyd.

At about 7:40 am on Thursday (27 March), emergency services were called to Hollows Crescent, Lloyd, following reports of a vehicle fire.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District arrived to find a utility well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

Police immediately commenced an investigation into the incident with initial inquires indicating the fire was suspicious.

Following inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Hollows Crescent, Lloyd.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized multiple machetes, knuckle-dusters, a taser, a trail bike, a Subaru sedan, jewellery, several e-scooters, and 100 grams of cannabis.

Following the search, police arrested a 46-year-old man at the home before taking him to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged by virtue of an outstanding warrant.

The man was refused bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Friday (28 March).

Police are continuing to investigate the utility fire and are urging anyone with information to contact Wagga Wagga Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1300 333 000.
