Police appeal for help after armed break-in at elderly man's Moama home

Police are appealing for information as investigations continue into an armed break and enter that occurred in the southern Riverina two months ago.

About 3:33 am on Thursday 19 June, police were called to a home in Andrews Court, Moama, following reports of a break and enter.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded and were told five people with their faces covered and armed with a firearm, axe and machete entered the premises, damaged property and stole items.

Following the incident the offenders left the scene in a white Ford Territory.

The sole resident – a 78-year-old man – was uninjured.

Police established a crime scene and Murray River Police District detectives started investigations as part of Strike Force Seppeltsfield.

About 12:15 am on Sunday 22 June, Victoria Police located the white Ford Territory in Shepparton.

Anyone travelling in the area at the time with dashcam footage, or who knows of the vehicle, is encouraged to contact Deniliquin Police Station, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit the Crime Stoppers website.
