A P-plater has been charged after she was allegedly caught speeding across a southern NSW highway three times on the same day, including reaching 215 km/h.
The 19-year-old woman eventually had her vehicle confiscated after she was allegedly seen speeding on the Hume Highway near Gunning, Gundagai and Albury on Saturday (12 April).
Officers were first called to the highway at Gunning, east of Yass, over multiple reports of alleged dangerous driving, a NSW Police spokesperson said.
They stopped the teenager at about 10:40 am after she was allegedly detected travelling at over the 110 km/h speed limit.
She was issued with an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit.
Then just an hour later, at about 11:45 am, officers were patrolling the highway at Tumblong, which is southeast of Gundagai.
They too saw the teenager, this time allegedly driving at 215 km/h in a 110 km/h zone.
She was again stopped then issued a court attendance notice for charges relating to dangerous driving and speeding.
In addition, her drivers licence was suspended and her vehicle licence plates were confiscated for three months.
Lastly, at about 2 pm that afternoon, officers allegedly recorded the teen travelling at 201 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the highway at Table Top, northeast of Albury.
She was stopped, arrested and taken to Albury Police Station where she was handed charges relating to dangerous driving, speeding, driving while suspended and operating a vehicle during a number plate confiscation period.
She was granted conditional bail.
The teenager is scheduled to face Albury Local Court on 30 April over the incident at Table Top and Gundagai Local Court on 13 June over the incident at Tumblong.
