Transport for NSW has commenced five weeks of maintenance work on two sections of the Olympic Highway north of Wallendbeen.

The maintenance work began on 17 September and will continue Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm.

“We’re carrying out essential road safety improvements on the Olympic Highway,” Transport for NSW said in a statement.

“Work involves widening the road, line marking and installing safety barriers and audio-tactile markings.

“We’ll be working on two sections of the Olympic Highway.”

Transport for NSW said the work would be carried out on a 160-metre section, five kilometres north of the intersection of the Olympic Highway and Burley Griffin Way.

Once that work is complete, a further 300-metre section three kilometres north of the intersection will be completed.

Motorists are reminded that changed traffic conditions will be in place for the safety of road users and workers.

There will be workers, vehicles, traffic controllers, signage, a 40 km/h speed reduction during work hours and traffic delays of up to 10 minutes.
