NSW Premier Chris Minns is set to visit Wagga Wagga for the first time since 2023, as part of next week’s The Daily Telegraph Bush Summit at Charles Sturt University.
The premier will be one of 13 speakers at the summit, which is set to discuss the biggest issues affecting people living in regional areas. The summit, organised by The Daily Telegraph, is one of six to be held across the country, with others to take place in Broome, WA; Mt Gambier, SA; Toowoomba, Qld; Ballarat, Vic; and Darwin, NT.
A statement released by News Corp states, “The Bush Summit is an annual agenda-setting and policy-shifting series, with a primary focus on achieving better outcomes, improving services, and identifying new opportunities for regional and rural communities that can be presented to state and federal governments for implementation,” the statement reads.
“Some of the key themes to be discussed at the NSW summit include economic welfare, equality of services in the bush, simplifying regulations to improve productivity, and the Riverina’s sporting strengths.
“Discussions will involve business and political leaders, including Federal Member for New England Barnaby Joyce, Sydney Airport CEO Scott Charlton, QantasLink CEO Rachel Yangoyan, and the Royal Flying Doctors Service’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Shannon Nott.
“The Daily Telegraph Bush Summit in Wagga Wagga is the fourth summit in the 2025 National Bush Summit series, following The Courier Mail Bush Summit in Toowoomba.
“This year’s program will continue to Ballarat (VIC) on 29 August, before concluding in Darwin (NT) on 1 September.
“The main National Bush Summit event, which will feature Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese, will be held in Ballarat this year.”

The Daily Telegraph Bush Summit will be held on Wednesday 27 August, from 9:15 am to 12:30 pm at Charles Sturt University’s Joyce Hall.
