Nine things to do in the Riverina this week (8 - 14 November)

There is plenty to see and do around the Riverina this weekend kicking off with the Welcome to Wagga gathering at the Old Ambulance Station on Johnston Street on Friday night. Also on Friday night is the return of Pottery and Pints at North Wagga’s North Shore Studios.

Saturday sees a stacked line-up, with the return of Wagga’s Roller Disco and Griffith’s Multicultural Markets; meanwhile, Zana Ariel Academy will land at the Civic Theatre for its end-of-year showcase.

Sunday looks to offer chill vibes with cool temperatures at the River and Wren Markets at the Wagga Showgrounds and for those looking for a quiet end to the weekend, Wild Vine is offering its always enjoyable Lazy Sundays.

Christmas comes early to Forum 6 with the release of Red One starring Chris Evans, Dwayne Johnson and JK Simmons. Also showing is Robert Zermeckis’ new film Here, starring Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, is a generational story about families, love, loss, laughter and life. Meanwhile, Weekend in Taipei, starring Luke Evans and Gwei Lun-mei as a former DEA agent and a former undercover operative, rekindles their romance during a weekend in Taipei and is also still playing.

Welcome To Wagga Wagga

Committee 4 Wagga (C4W) is inviting the city’s newest residents to an evening dedicated to welcoming them to the Riverina.

C4W’s Welcome to Wagga event is a chance for new arrivals to join community leaders and organisations for an informative evening filled with entertainment, networking, and food and beverages.

Cost: $15 – $20 entry + $5 skate hire.

Twin City Skate, the largest roller-skating club in NSW, runs regular Saturday night roller discos in Wagga. Think cool tunes, fancy lighting and a giant disco ball. Bring your own skates or hire them at the venue.

Held at the Wagga Wagga Showground six times a year, the River and Wren Market is a fantastic opportunity to find some brilliant handmade, homemade and homegrown goodies. With more than 100 traders, street food vendors, and fun for the kids, the River and Wren Market is an event lots of locals mark on their calendars.
