Easter may be over but the list of events going on across the Riverina has not shortened.
Kicking off with a huge day on Saturday, the Downside Bush Dance returns for its monthly class run by the Tin Shed Rattlers. Continuing with the musical theme is the Roller Disco at Bolton Park Stadium.
For those looking for a fun day out in the sunshine, ErinEarth and the Temora Aviation Museum have you covered. ErinEarth’s autumn festival promises to teach growers how to harvest their own food and plants while the aviation museum’s air show is always a spectacle.
Sunday refuses to slow down as the Wagga Autism Support Group has its annual Superhero Walk around Lake Albert. Wagga’s dog owners will also have the chance to have a fun time at the Riverside precinct as the first annual Dog Day Out promises to be a fun event for all.
Add the always fun miniature railway at Willans Hill and Griffith Rotary Market and you’re in for a fantastic weekend with even better weather.

I hope cinemagoers are in the mood for some horror because that’s exactly what you’re going to get with this week’s newest releases.
First up is the sequel to the frightful reimagining of one of history’s most beloved characters, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey II. Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Owl, and Tigger decide to take the fight to the town of Ashdown, home of Christopher Robin, leaving a bloody trail of death and mayhem in their wake.
The First Omen also hits cinemas this week. A young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church. She encounters darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.
Finally, Dev Patel makes his directorial debut with Monkey Man. After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.

Downside Bush Dance

Held monthly, the Downside Bush Dance has been running on the first Sunday of each month since 1971. Run by the Tin Shed Rattlers, the Downside Bush Dance is a fun evening for new and experienced dancers alike. New dances each month means every occasion feels fresh but with a 70s vibe and aesthetic.
Saturday Night Roller Discos!

Twin City Skate, the largest roller-skating club in NSW, runs regular Saturday night roller discos in Wagga! Think cool tunes, fancy lighting and a giant disco ball! Bring your own skates or hire them at the venue.
Erin Earth Autumn Festival

Aircraft Showcase April

The Temora Aviation Museum’s April 2024 Aircraft Showcase will feature all serviceable aircraft from the RAAF 100 SQN Historic Flight Collection at the Temora Aviation Museum, which includes the Supermarine Spitfires, Cessna O-2A, Lockheed Hudson, Wirraway, Tiger Moth, Ryan STM S2, and many more visiting warbirds. At Temora, you can get closer to the action as you witness a themed selection of Australia’s ex-military flying history come alive.

Autism Superhero Walk

This year the Superhero Walk will be bigger and better to help families and show support. Join Lightning McQueen and the Wagga Autism Support Group for a walk, barbecue, games, raffle, balloons and superhero costumes down at the scenic Apex Park in Lake Albert.
Willans Hill Miniature Railway Rides
When: Sunday 7 April, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
Where: Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens
Cost: $4 per ride.
Situated in the Botanic Gardens, the model railway runs through the gardens and features an authentic station and booking office. The track runs through woodlands, a tunnel and over a bridge. The railway was established in 1978 by Raymond Catts, who advertised for interested persons to form a club for the display and use of models. Rides are operating on the first and third Sundays of the month.
Wagga’s Dog Day Out

Where: Riverside Precinct, Wagga
Cost: Free (stalls available).
The Wagga Dog Day Out is an inaugural event dedicated to celebrating our canine companions and promoting responsible pet ownership within the Wagga community. This event aims to become a cornerstone in the local social calendar, fostering a deeper understanding of animal welfare implications and providing a platform for local animal industries to showcase their services.
Griffith Rotary Market
