A Merimbula Town Producers’ Market will showcase the best of the area, while amateurs will have a chance to play golf with professionals in Moruya.
You can also visit historic Cooma Cottage in Yass, try your hand at making sauerkraut in Michelago, or upcycling with Millie Hocking in Wagga Wagga.
There’s a ceramics course with Emma Fleetwood in Jugiong, and an opportunity to meet and speak to Meredith Jaffé about her new novel in Goulburn.

Winter Bites Festival

Surrounded by idyllic mountain peaks, natural bushland and crystal-clear streams, the Winter Bites Festival is set to bring a celebration of local produce, beverages and high-profile music acts to Tumbarumba.
The area is renowned for its award-winning vineyards and lush agricultural pastures, along with the delicious chestnuts and berries that grow there.
Blues and roots artists Busby Marou and Emily Wurramara are two amazing musical talents who headline the festival.
Aussie BBQ Festival: Queanbeyan

The Aussie BBQ Festival is an event that caters for all levels of barbecuers.
Head along and show off your grilling skills, whether you have just bought a barbie at Bunnings or have been cooking for years.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event that will be fun for the whole family, with rides, live entertainment and a bar to keep the parents happy.
Merimbula Town Producers’ Market

Rotary Club of Merimbula is supporting the Merimbula Visitor Information Centre and the Merimbula Chamber of Commerce to run Merimbula Town Producers’ Market this Saturday.
Featuring producers of fruit, vegetables and plants; arts and crafts; and unique creations and designs, the market’s aim is to promote local recovery from a bruising year on the NSW South Coast, and offer plenty of great things to buy.
Sauerkraut Making Workshop
When: Saturday, 5 June, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Come along and learn how to make properly fermented and delicious sauerkraut using cabbage, carrot, beetroot and apple.
Some basic cooking and kitchen equipment is required to be brought along by participants – such as a mixing bowl and rolling pin – but all sauerkraut ingredients will be included.
You will take home your jar of sauerkraut to ferment on your bench at home, plus a pre-made sample.
Second Take: Upcycling with Millie Hocking

Join local artist Millie Hocking in a workshop exploring the world of upcycling and recreating fashion for teenagers.
Funk up your old threads using stitch and print techniques in this two hour workshop series as Millie helps you recreate your wardrobe.

Wired Open Lab: Ceramic Hand Building and Jewellery
When: Saturday, 5 June, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

In this workshop with Emma Fleetwood, you will learn simple hand building techniques to make one stoneware piece – either a cup, vase, planter, bowl or plate – and tissue transfer and underglaze printing techniques to decorate two pieces of porcelain jewellery such as a pendant or a pair of earrings.
Each participant will complete one homeware item and two jewellery pieces, which will be taken home by Emma to be glazed, fired to 1220-degrees Celsius, and returned by post within four weeks of the class.
Participants will also be provided with snacks and refreshments including water, organic teas and French press coffee.

Visit the former home of Australian-born explorer Hamilton Hume.
Hume bought the cottage and its 100 acres for ₤601 in 1840 and lived there for the remainder of his life. He spent many of his years enthusiastically building extensions to his property, and today this original colonial bungalow forms part of the earliest complex of dwellings and stables, and stands as a fine example of the way our pioneers used to live.

Meredith Jaffé Author Talk

Author Meredith Jaffé will be in conversation with Goulburn Mulwaree Library staff about her latest book, The Dressmakers of Yarrandarrah Prison. Inspired by real events, novel is funny, dark and moving.
It’s a poignantly comic story about a men’s prison sewing circle, and as unlikely as it sounds, it’s based on a real men’s sewing organisation, Fine Cell Work, which operates in prisons throughout Britain teaching inmates needlework and quilting.
