Committee 4 Wagga (C4W) is inviting the city’s newest residents to an evening dedicated to welcoming them to the Riverina.

C4W’s Welcome to Wagga event is a chance for new arrivals to join community leaders and organisations for an informative evening filled with entertainment, networking, and food and beverages.

The events are held twice a year, with the next one scheduled for Friday 11 April at the Victory Memorial Gardens.

C4W CEO Scott Sanbrook said the welcome event was one of the highlights in C4W’s calendar.

“It’s a free, family-friendly event, and we encourage as many newcomers as possible to attend,” Mr Sanbrook said.

“The idea is for new residents to make friends and network with business owners.

“There is a big focus on families and providing a positive experience in Wagga, which is, as we all know, a wonderful city.

“It gives new residents the chance to learn more about our amazing city while we are able to showcase some of Wagga Wagga’s favourite spots, such as the Victory Memorial Gardens.”

Mr Sanbrook said the first 60 families in attendance would receive a welcome pack with goods and services valued at $100.

“The packs get bigger and better with every event, thanks to Committee 4 Wagga’s members, and there is more than $100 worth of goodies for all the family to enjoy,” he said.

Mr Sanbrook said the welcome events were vital to Wagga.

“It’s been identified by a lot of different organisations and businesses as important to Wagga,” he said.

“We want to showcase to our newcomers and new residents — and potential newcomers — the great points about our city.”
