Craig Jackson has taken matters into his own hands by cleaning up Riverside after it was underwater for weeks.
When asked why he had decided to clean up Riverside, Craig said the council had provided a great facility for the children, and it gives great “satisfaction to keep it” and “the children have somewhere to go and play.”
“It’s a nice little spot,” Craig said.
“The last time it flooded the council cleaned the place up themselves but this time it was a good size flood; the precinct was underwater for about two to three weeks.”
Craig said he had pressure-washed the precinct for about a week, while the council staff removed bulky items.
The father of two gets a lot of satisfaction from his cleaning venture.
“We get a lot of older people’s houses and treat mould … so they don’t trip and fall on slippery surfaces,” he said.
“Some of the places we go to treat concrete mould it’s pure black and once it gets wet it gets slippery.
The former security worker cleans the mould with his hot water pressure cleaner, which also sanitises, killing the mould and bacteria.
The Ultra Power Wash owner has been running his industrial cleaning business for the past four years after spending 24 years in security.
After noticing a gap in the cleaning industry, he decided to start his own business and focused on mould removal, disinfection, hot water pressure cleaning and fogging.
Craig endeavours to grow his business, employee more people and focus more on sanitation, which would include disinfecting playgrounds and schools.
Along with Craig, Wagga Wagga City Council employees have also undertaken cleaning efforts.
