Three years on from opening her own business, Frankk Marketing, Kristen Sargeant has not looked back.

She was recently nominated as a finalist at the Riverina and Murray Regional Business Awards.

“I’ve very much enjoyed working with all the different businesses I’ve partnered with over the last few years, in one way or another,” she said.

“I love trying to encourage businesses in our region to look at marketing differently and a bit more creatively.

“When working with my partners, rather than putting up a sign that says ‘Hi, I’m so and so from such and such,’ I like to work with them to think a bit outside the box.”

Since opening her firm, Kristen has worked with RayWhite RE, Alatallo Brothers, Kiltr Coffee, Nordcon Land and many other local businesses on a range of branding projects, social media developments, content shoots and video projects.

In addition to working with businesses, Kristen is also passionate about working with the next generation of marketing gurus.

“The next generation comes with an automatic understanding of social media to the point of how to use it,” she said.

“Unfortunately, there are a lot of social media managers gaining the space, which means that they’ve got no degree, no experience, no nothing, but they are coming with the, you know, the base level ability to be able to post.

“This means there is very little implementation of actually marketing when using social media, for example.

“So I enjoy actually providing mentorship to the next generation entering the marketing space.

“In the design space, I’ve taken on and supplied them with work and coached them through how to work with clients and approach projects and whatnot.

“In a way, that means that then they’ve almost got a cushion coming straight out of uni. They’ve got a cushion to land on, guaranteed work.”

Nominated as a finalist in the Outstanding Young Business Leader category at the Riverina and Murray Regional Business Awards, Kristen has been noticed for her work in the marketing space.

“It was just an absolute honour to be a part of that, especially among all the really hardworking business owners and whatnot in your field,” she said.

“It’s actually a great opportunity to sort of look that up, and learn a bit more about who’s in your area, and who’s outside of your area.

“The awards are always a nice night; it was my second year in a row attending, and it’s always a really bloody good time.”
