Man to face Tumbarumba court over firearm charges

A man will face court next month after police seized firearm parts from a home in the state’s south.

At about 3 pm on Monday (22 September), police executed a search warrant at a home in Byatt Street, Tumbarumba.

Officers allegedly seized firearm components (including rifle barrels, a rifle bolt and ammunition) and cannabis.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Tumbarumba Police Station and charged with possessing ammunition without holding a valid licence or permit; possessing a prohibited drug; possessing a firearm barrel without appropriate authorisation and acquiring a firearm part without lawful authority.

He was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Tumbarumba Local Court on 23 October.
