A Riverina man has pleaded guilty to breaking and entering, stealing cigarettes, and possessing prohibited drugs.
Tocumwal man Kaimen Johns faced Deniliquin Local Court on 12 April and was refused bail.
Police said Johns broke into a store on Livingstone Street in Mathoura and stole two charity tins, 40 packets of cigarettes and drinks before fleeing the scene.
Officers attached to Murray River Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.
Just after 8:30 pm on 11 April, following inquiries, police located the 28-year-old hiding in a toilet block within a visitor centre on Moama Street in Mathoura.
Police seized cigarettes, methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia from his backpack, as well as clothing relevant to the investigation.
Johns was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station where he was charged with breaking and entering, possessing a prohibited drug, and possessing equipment for administering prohibited drugs.
Johns will face Deniliquin Local Court for sentencing on 10 May.
