A 21-year-old man has had his licence suspended on the spot after allegedly being caught driving at more than double the speed limit in Griffith.

Traffic and Highway Patrol officers will allege they detected the man driving a white Kia Sorento at 109 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Clifton Boulevard about 2 pm on Saturday (4 July).

The young man’s licence was suspended immediately for three months.

He was also issued an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h, an offence that carries a fine of more than $3000.
