Sex Crimes Squad detectives have extradited a man from New Zealand over alleged historic indecent assault against a child known to him in Wagga.
In September 2019, officers attached to Riverina Police District commenced inquiries into the alleged aggravated indecent assault of a young girl in Wagga when she was between the ages of 10 and 12.
The matter was taken carriage of by State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad who identified the alleged offender – who was known to the girl – now residing in New Zealand.

Following extensive inquiries on Monday 7 April, Sex Crimes Squad detectives travelled to Wellington, New Zealand, where they began the process to extradite the 46-year-old man to NSW.
At about 3:15 pm on Wednesday (9 April), detectives touched down in Sydney with the man, and escorted him to Mascot Police Station, where he was charged with indecent assault person under 16 years of age (DV).
The man was refused bail to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday (10 April).
