A man has died following a truck crash in Griffith.

At about 7:15 am, Friday (27 February), emergency services were called to Kidman Way near Coppard Road, 23 km south of Griffith, following reports of a truck crash.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District responded and found a truck had hit a guardrail and the driver was trapped inside.

NSW SES removed the trapped driver, before he was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

The Rural Fire Service extinguished a fire on grassland nearby, believed to have been caused by a fallen powerline.
