A man has been charged with dangerous driving following a fatal crash in Griffith earlier this month.
At about 2 am on Friday 21 March 2025, an SUV was travelling east on Kidman Way, Warburn, about 17 km northwest of Griffith, when the car allegedly left the roadway and rolled before coming to rest on a grass verge.
Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District responded and found a 43-year-old man ejected from the vehicle.
They commenced CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and continued CPR. The man, who was a rear passenger, was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
The 28-year-old male driver and 29-year-old male front passenger were taken to Griffith Base Hospital, both in a serious but stable condition.
Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District established a crime scene with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit.
On Thursday 27 March 2025, the driver was discharged from hospital and attended Griffith Police Station.
He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, driving in a manner that is dangerous, negligent driving (occasioning death) and causing bodily harm by misconduct.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Griffith Local Court on Wednesday 4 June 2025.
