Man charged over alleged sexual act

A man has been arrested in Wagga for allegedly committing a sexual act while watching two young children.

Police were contacted following reports of the alleged incident near Wiradjuri Walking Track on Johnson Street, Wagga Wagga, at about 3:15 pm on 22 April.

Officers attached to Riverina Police commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, at about 7 am on Monday (5 May), a 53-year-old man was arrested at Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged with intentionally carrying out a sexual act with a child aged under 10 years old.

The man appeared in Wagga Wagga Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on 21 May.
