A man will appear in court today charged following an investigation into an armed robbery in Junee last month.
A man armed with a firearm entered a service station on Illabo Road (Junee) and allegedly threatened the employee, demanding cash on Wednesday 31 August at about 11:20 pm.
Police said, after not being able to open the cash register, the armed man allegedly stole it and fled on foot.
The employee was not physically injured, and officers attached to Riverina Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.
A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic police and following further inquiries, detectives arrested a 27-year-old man.
Police arrested the man at a home on Callaghan Street in Ashmont at bout 4:30 pm on Friday 9 September.
He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station and charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon.
The man was refused bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Bail Court on Saturday 10 September.
