Man charged after alleged motorcycle hit-and-run in Narrandera

A 24-year-old man has been charged over an alleged fail-to-stop crash earlier this month in Narrandera.

Just after 8 pm on Saturday 3 May, emergency services were called to River Street, following reports a 48-year-old man had allegedly been hit by a motorcycle.

Officers were told the rider allegedly left the scene before police arrived.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident, with assistance from officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a house on Lady Loch Crescent, Narrandera at about 8 am on Friday (16 May), where they arrested a 24-year-old man.

He was taken to Narrandera Police Station where he was charged with two offences, failing to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm, and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He has been refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court via audiovisual link on Saturday (17 May).
