Two people have been charged following a police pursuit in Hay yesterday.

Police said Traffic and Highway Patrol officers attempted to stop a Great Wall utility seen travelling on the Sturt Highway at Balranald just before 3 pm on Tuesday (14 March).

The vehicle failed to stop when directed, and a pursuit was initiated. It ended in Hay when road spikes were successfully deployed.

The vehicle stopped in the CBD area, and the driver fled while the passenger, an 18-year-old woman, was arrested.

Following a search of the area, a 21-year-old man was arrested after being found hiding on the veranda of a home.
