A 39-year-old Whitton man has been arrested for allegedly driving with a disqualified licence.
At about 3:15 pm on Thursday (27 November), police stopped a 2015 Silver Toyota Prado 4WD wagon bearing Victorian registration travelling in a westerly direction along Beelbangera Road in Beelbangera.
Officers spoke with the driver and saw three children also seated in the car.
Police will allege they requested the driver produce his licence but he was unable to do so, stating, “I’ve left it in my wallet at home; it’s a full licence.”
The man was submitted to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.
Police allege checks were then conducted on the man’s driver’s licence, which showed it was disqualified.
The man was placed under arrest and taken to Griffith Police Station for the purpose of a breath analysis, which returned a negative reading.
The 39-year-old was then issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice in relation to the offence of driving a motor vehicle during the disqualification period.
