A Griffith woman has been refused bail after police allegedly found methamphetamine and an imitation firearm during an early morning patrol.

While patrolling Wakaden Street about 3:30 am on Sunday (5 July), police allege they saw a 36-year-old woman standing on the footpath at the intersection of Crossing Street, attempting to hide behind a telegraph pole.

After speaking with the woman, police searched her backpack and allegedly found 0.55 grams of methamphetamine.

A further search allegedly uncovered an imitation firearm tucked into the waistband of her pants.
